Congratulations on reaching for the stars, Project SEARCH interns!

Lancaster General Health has a new crop of Project SEARCH interns. The six students who participated in the program this year, now finishing their last year of high school, attended classes and completed worksite internships throughout Lancaster General Hospital through the innovative program, a partnership between LG Health, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation of the Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13, and the Lancaster County Office of Behavioral Health/Developmental Services.  Read more…

Free clinics provide access to care

Lancaster’s free health clinics provide a full array of primary health care to community members who may otherwise fall through the cracks. In support, Lancaster General Health has collaborated with Water Street Health Services since 1994 and Hope Within Ministries since 2008, providing services such as medications, immunizations, lab work and health screenings.  Read more…

Community Partnership Spotlight: South Central PA Opioid Awareness Coalition

Each month Lancaster General Health highlights one of our valued partners. Together, we strengthen the health of our community in ways impossible to do alone.

The South Central PA Opioid Awareness Coalition, launched in May, is aimed at reducing the misuse/abuse of prescription opioids and heroin abuse. The new coalition is comprised of health systems, hospitals, medical and behavioral health providers, pharmacists, and health care professional associations and organizations. Membership in the collaborative span across Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties, as well as The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.  Read more...
