It's no secret that portion sizes of foods have increased over the last 20 or so years. When was the last time your restaurant portion of steak was the size of a deck of cards? The problem is that when we're served a larger portion, we eat more.

Remember the Food Pyramid? Lots of people found it hard to figure out what they were supposed to eat, so the U.S. Department of Agriculture has just unveiled an easier symbol for healthy eating—the MyPlate icon.
