Lori Good is the Women’s Heart Health Educator for the Lancaster General Health Wellness Center.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in communication/journalism and an associates degree in nursing. She is a certified Shapedown Instructor for the Lancaster General Health Healthy Weight Management Center for children, and a certified life skills instructor for Lancaster General Health’s substance abuse prevention program for elementary, middle and high school students.

I was saddened when I learned that Paula Tshudy, a graduate of our Cardiac Rehab, had passed away on Feb. 9. She was the woman who initiated the support group that has helped many people who have survived cardiac events. The group was inspired by how she felt after her own heart attack in 2005.

While screening women for heart disease at the Heart Smart Women event on April 22, one participant asked me, “When is the best time to check my own blood pressure?” She was diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure) and put on medication to keep it within a normal range.
