Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital

Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital includes a therapeutic pool, gymnasium, 50 private rooms and space for intensive inpatient physical rehabilitation following strokes, trauma or other healthcare problems that result in severe disabilities. Lancaster Rehabilitation staff assists patients in setting realistic goals and teaches skills that support continued progress. This process begins with an in-depth assessment of the patient’s condition, development of interdisciplinary goals and a care plan, continual progress tracking throughout treatment, and plans to return home.

Treatment programs are designed for people aged 14 and above, recovering from multiple trauma, brain injury, spinal cord injury, burns, orthopedic conditions, stroke, aneurysm, amputation, and various neurological conditions, including: Guillian Barre, Parkinson’s Disease, cerebral neoplasms, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Psychologists and interns are regularly consulted to provide diagnostic and treatment services to patients at the Rehabilitation Hospital. Consultation requests frequently include the evaluation of patients suspected of having dementia/delirium, traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputation, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, noncompliance with treatment issues, pain management assistance, grief reactions, coping abilities/adjustment and other psychiatric disorders. We also provide a weekly stroke support group for patients and families.
