Our Commitment to Diversity
Lancaster General Health is committed to fair practices in the delivery of patient care, employment, and supplier relations. Lancaster General believes that diversity in our community partnerships, customer base, and work force helps us realize our full potential as a healthcare organization and corporate citizen. Recognizing and developing the talents of each individual brings new ideas and capabilities to Lancaster General. Lancaster General benefits from the creativity and innovation that result when people who have different experiences, perspectives, and cultures work together. This is what drives high performance at Lancaster General. We believe a well-managed, diverse work force and network of community partners expands Lancaster General’s base of knowledge, skills, and cross-cultural understanding, which in turn, enables us to understand, relate, and respond to our diverse and changing customers and deliver an extraordinary healthcare experience…every time.
Lancaster General’s policies and supporting practices are built upon this philosophy, as well as a set of values that include a strong belief that all employees and customers should be treated with dignity and respect. In accordance with this, Lancaster General does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, or covered veteran status. It is also Lancaster General’s policy to comply with all applicable national and local laws pertaining to nondiscrimination and equal opportunity.
Lancaster General Health Physicians—Neuropsychology strives to provide an environment for interns and staff that not only welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences but honors that diversity as well. Our commitment to diversity is expressed in several ways including the following:
We formed a diversity committee within our practice to help ensure that we are attentive to and addressing the needs of a diverse clinical population as well as staff.
Provide regular training programs and workshops for interns and staff on topics specifically related to diversity.
Beyond workshops, didactics and seminars our staff and students incorporate the awareness of cultural and individually diverse factors into all assessment processes, treatment plans, interdisciplinary discussions and case supervision sessions.
We participate in the recruitment of interns through the APA Minority Fellowship program by inviting qualified candidates to apply for the pre-doctoral internship at our facility.
We invite candidates who matriculate at colleges and universities that have large minority student bodies to apply for internship positions.
