Meet the Residents


Amanda Gerberich, PharmD

I received my Doctorate of Pharmacy from Wilkes University in May 2017. Throughout pharmacy school, I worked as an intern at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and did various inpatient APPE rotations in critical care, pediatrics, and antimicrobial stewardship.  My career interests include pediatrics and infectious disease, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Hallmark movies, and backpacking/camping.

Hien Nguyen, PharmD

I received my Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy/University of the Sciences in May 2017. As a student pharmacist, I interned at CVS/pharmacy and later transitioned to long term care pharmacy at Stauffer’s Drug Store in New Holland, PA. My career interests include geriatrics, ambulatory care, transitions of care, and chronic disease state management. I am also very passionate about patient counseling and the impact of pharmacist-patient relationships. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, finding new places to eat, shopping, and catching up on the latest sitcoms and movies.

Eric Rakszawski, PharmD

I received my Doctorate of Pharmacy with a concentration in acute care from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy in May 2017. I worked as an intern for Giant Eagle Pharmacy and Shoprite Pharmacy throughout school, but have had experiences in acute care, ambulatory care, and managed care during rotations. My professional interests include cardiology, internal medicine, and academia with the goal of completing a PGY-2 residency specializing in cardiology. In my free time I enjoy golfing, cooking, and playing music.

Major Research Project: Use of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) bleeding model in patients who have undergone elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and its predicted effects on bivalirudin utilization, cost of care, and bleeding events
