Dr. Atul Gawande to speak in Lancaster April 5

LG Health will host one of the most respected health-care speakers in the world this spring.

Atul Gawande, M.D., MPH

Atul Gawande, M.D., MPH, will speak 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Spooky Nook Sports, 2913 Spooky Nook Road, Manheim.
Dr. Gawande is a surgeon, writer and public health researcher who practices general and endocrine surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His bold vision for improving performance in health care has placed him among Time magazine’s 100 most influential thinkers.
He will speak on how a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement can enhance our community’s overall health amid a shifting health-care environment.

Dr. Gawande’s talk is the inaugural session of the Healthcare Scholar Lecture Series, part of a yearlong recognition of LG Health’s historic and future commitment to clinical quality and excellence. The series is held in conjunction with the celebration of Lancaster General Hospital’s 125th anniversary.
