is changing the relationships it has with two nationally recognized pediatric providers in our region, with the goal of enhancing healthcare services offered to infants, children and young adults in our community.
- LG Health will discontinue its agreement with Nemours health system and its Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, in Wilmington, Del. LG Health's agreement, which provided 24-hour pediatric hospitalist coverage at Lancaster General Hospital, will expire Jan. 31, 2012. LG Health is committed to continuing the pediatric hospitalist service and is offering employment to the Nemours pediatric hospitalists who practice at LGH.
- LG Health is in discussions with Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital regarding ways to partner by providing pediatric hospitalists and pediatric subspecialist services for patients in Lancaster County. While LG Health's discussions remain in the development stages, it reached a tentative agreement and more specific actions will be announced in the coming weeks.
LG Health appreciates Nemours' efforts in assisting LGH in strengthening inpatient pediatric services and for their efforts to begin offering pediatric subspecialists. LG Health expects its collaboration with Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital will result in a broader array of pediatric services for Lancaster County. The collective vision is to significantly enhance what is currently offered in the region for pediatric care.
Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital offers more than 20 specialty pediatric patient services in Hershey and numerous specialty services at more than 30 outpatient clinic locations throughout Pennsylvania.
