Dr. Christine Stabler elected to Penn Academy of Master Clinicians
2/3/2017

Christine Stabler, M.D., MBA

Christine M. Stabler, M.D., MBA, is one of 13 Penn Medicine physicians elected to the Academy of Master Clinicians.

The Academy, launched in 2013, recognizes Penn clinicians who exemplify the highest standards of clinical excellence, humanism and professionalism. Election to the Academy is the highest clinical honor bestowed on a Penn physician.

Dr. Stabler practices at LG Health Physicians Family & Maternity Medicine and serves as LG Health Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Dean for Temple University School of Medicine. She is the first family physician chosen for the Academy.

“I am honored to be elected to such an esteemed group,” Dr. Stabler said. “It is a wonderful validation of my commitment to medical education and patient care. I am proud to be a part of a group dedicated to innovation and excellence in medicine.”

Master Clinicians serve as ambassadors for Penn Medicine. Members of the Academy develop and implement innovative programs that focus on career mentoring for medical students; professionalism; promoting and enhancing a culture of clinical excellence; promoting wellness and reducing burnout; and exploring barriers to providing exceptional patient care.

In his nomination letter, Chyke A. Doubeni, M.D., MPH, Chair and Presidential Professor of Family and Community Health at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, called Dr. Stabler a “pioneering and transformative clinical leader” who “embodies the ideals of an academic family physician.”

“She has had a major impact on patient care, clinical practice and training at LG Health, is an exemplary mentor and is considered the go-to person in all domains,” Dr. Doubeni wrote. “I can think of none more deserving of membership on the Academy of Master Clinicians than Chris.”

Tom Beeman, Chief Operating Officer, Regional Operations, wrote in support of Dr. Stabler’s nomination, praising her ability to effectively communicate with the most complex patients and engage peers with her commitment and enthusiasm.

“She is enthusiastic, hard-working and deeply empathetic as a teacher and clinician, and serves as a role model due to her unique ability to naturally and easily connect with patients, peers, students and leaders,” Beeman wrote.
