10/6/2017

Adam C. Lake, M.D.

Adam C. Lake, M.D., has won the Family Medicine Education Consortium’s 2017 Emerging Leader award.

The award is given to clinicians with three years or less experience who have shown the potential to be future leaders in family medicine.

Dr. Lake, who practices at LG Health Physicians Comprehensive Care, was nominated by Stephen Ratcliffe, M.D. He will receive his award Nov. 11, during the 2017 FMEC Annual Meeting in Cleveland.

Dr. Lake also will be honored for his prose writing. Click here to read “Addiction in Isolation," his piece about his monthly volunteer work with a local buprenorphine clinic.

“Treating addiction is a practice in a strange kind of love,” he writes. “Practicing trust without being manipulated. … Practicing hope with enough distance that a relapse hurts less.”
