Quick hits: Dr. Shahid Babar earns a new title

Shahid I. Babar, M.D.

Shahid I. Babar, M.D., has earned the designation of Certified Physician Executive. Dr. Babar is managing physician at LG Health Physicians Hospitalists.
 
A Certified Physician Executive is a licensed M.D. or D.O. with at least one year of management experience; 150 hours of tested management education or a management degree; is board-certified in a specialty; has three years of clinical experience after residency and fellowship; and has successfully passed the live 3½-day CPE Capstone.
 
The CPE designation is awarded by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management, a not-for-profit corporation chartered by the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Benjamin Snell, M.D., and behavioral health counselor Ketra Forry, both of Family Medicine Twin Rose, were interviewed for an episode of WITF’s “Health Smart.” The topic was “Health & Happiness.”
 
Joan B. Thode, M.D., of Roseville Pediatrics, offers prevention and treatment tips in a new weekly TV segment, “What’s Going Around,” which airs Wednesday mornings on ABC 27.
 
WGAL-TV’s “State of Addiction” series highlighted LG Health’s low back pain protocol, including an interview with Tony T. Ton-That, M.D., Medical Director of the Spine and Low Back Pain Program.
 
CNN reported on new CDC findings that bullet fragments that remain lodged in the body can be an important cause of lead poisoning. The CNN story mentioned a study on gunshot wounds requiring hospitalization, which has two authors from LG Health’s Trauma Department.
