Share your mission trip stories

The Edward Hand Medical Heritage Foundation is starting a project to tell the story of Lancaster physicians who have spent time overseas in voluntary service in underserved countries.  This will involve collecting writings, stories, diaries, photos and other artifacts that can be submitted to EHMHF as a repository for research and a resource that reflects this aspect of the history of medicine in our county.  The work of these physicians has had a ripple effect in our county that would be hard to quantify, but it may have been an influence in why Lancaster County has the reputation for having a big heart that is open to other cultures.

If you are a physician who has done medical work overseas (short- or long-term) in an underserved country, please email Dr. Tom Miller so we can begin to form a list of physicians.
