New requirements for Child-Abuse Mandated Reporting Law include expanded training
When changes to the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) take effect on Dec. 31, 2014, physicians (and a host of other providers such as physician assistants and nurse practitioners covered by the law) will notice expanded requirements for reporting child abuse, tighter licensure requirements related to child-abuse education, and increased penalties for those who do not report child abuse as required by the law. Read More

In October, Lorenzo Galindo, M.D., assumed the role as LG Health’s new medical director of Laboratories and chair of the Department of Pathology. He joined LG Health from Mercy Health System, which has four acute-care hospitals and other facilities in the Philadelphia area. Read More

Lancaster Newspapers recently did an article about LG Health’s new laboratory, noting that the 43,000-square-foot laboratory processes 3,500 specimens a day and conducts more than 2 million tests a year. Read More

From birth to end of life: Dr. Diamantoni cares for all stages
Dr. Stephen Diamantoni met with Progress Notes staff at the state-of-the-art Lancaster County Forensic Center to discuss his position as Lancaster County Coroner. It had been another busy weekend for him, with three automobile deaths and a homicide.  His day had started early, seeing patients at his practice at 6 a.m. and then over to his other job at the new forensic center for an autopsy of the homicide case. Read More
