2/15/2012 – Physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants can now enter history and physicals (H&P), discharge summaries and the problem list directly in the inpatient e-Health chart. Here are the benefits you will see when you enter the documentation into
e-Health:
H&P
- Take advantage of smart links which pull already-documented information from other parts of the chart.
- Save time and ensure the H&P is immediately available for all care givers.
- Access the H&Ps done in the previous 30 days and complete the required interval update/signature in e-Health for patients soon to undergo surgery.
- Meet the chart completion requirement for H&P and avoid deficiency notices.
Discharge summary
- Immediately signed and available discharge summary is readily available for your patient's follow-up appointments with PCPs and specialists.
Problem list
- Ensures care givers in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings are working from the same list of conditions.
- Automatically populates the H&P and Discharge Summary with key information.
- Helps to create better programs based on disease specific populations.
- Meets "meaningful use" requirement for EMR sites.
