Your Care Team
All members of your care team are here to assure you receive excellent, compassionate care. Team members can be identified by their Lancaster General Health identification badges, and in many cases, by the color of their uniforms.
Allied health professionals
Allied health professionals (tan and black scrubs) perform diagnostic tests and therapy required for your care and treatment. They include laboratory staff, radiology techs, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists.
Case managers and chaplains
Case managers, social workers, and chaplains help you and your family with personal, non-medical concerns that may arise while you are in the hospital. Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Housekeeping staff (cranberry scrubs) ensure your room is kept in a clean and orderly condition.
Patient care assistants
Patient care assistants (green scrubs) will help with your basic healthcare needs, all under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Patient care hosts
Patient care hosts (red polo shirt, black khakis) provide personalized meal service, assisting you with meal selections, serving meals, and clearing away your tray.
Patient transporters (yellow polo shirt, khakis) will take you by wheelchair or litter from your hospital room to other areas of the hospital, such as physical therapy, radiology, and surgery.
Your physician directs your treatment at the hospital. Resident physicians, or physicians in training, provide care under the supervision of experienced physicians.
Your nurse (navy blue/white scrubs) is responsible for planning, providing, and coordinating your nursing care. Other members of your nursing team may include licensed practical nurses and student nurses. A registered nurse manager oversees all nursing staff and patient care activities.
Volunteers support patient care in a variety of ways and wear LG Health identification badges.
