Your Health is Our Primary Concern

Services Provided

Doctors of internal medicine (internists) focus on adult medicine. They care for patients from young adulthood through their later years. Internists have had special postgraduate and residency study and training focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases.

Internists can serve as primary care doctors, but they are unique because they focus on adult medicine. As primary care physicians, internists have wide-ranging knowledge of complex diseases that affect adults. They can treat patients for something as routine as the flu or fatigue, or they can provide in-depth care for diabetes, cancer or heart disease. Internists often coordinate the sub-specialists a patient might see in the course of treating an illness. Adult Medicine Specialists help patients deal with common or rare, simple or complex medical problems.

Appointments

Call (717) 544-3191 to schedule a routine appointment.

Emergencies

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately. For other urgent problems, please call (717) 544-3191. During normal office hours, a staff member will be available to speak with you. After hours, our answering service will take your call and can put you in touch with one of our on-call physicians.

Other Medical Concerns

If your medical concern is of a non-life-threatening nature, please call (717) 544-3191. Please state your name and the reason for your call. One of our nurses or physicians will help you. For questions about a complicated or long-term problem, please schedule an appointment so we can adequately address your concern.

Billing

Co-pays are due and payable at the time of your appointment. Your insurance company requires you to pay your co-pay at the time of service. Service may be refused if you are not prepared to pay your co-payment. Coinsurance is also due and payable at the time service is rendered. If you have an insurance that pays a percentage of your office visit, you are required to pay the percentage that is your responsibility. Payment in full is expected at the time of service if you have an insurance that we do not participate with. Please check with our office to verify if we participate with your insurance carrier.

Prescription Refills

Prescription refills are issued during regular office hours only. When calling for a refill, please press 2 at anytime. Please allow 24 hours for prescription refills and provide the following information:

  • Name, including spelling
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number where you can be reached
  • Name of medicine to be refilled, including spelling
  • Dosage of medicine
  • How the medicine is taken
  • How many refills are needed
  • Name and phone number of your pharmacy
  • Doctor who you see at our office

Referrals

Because there are so many insurance options available, we ask you to become familiar with your insurance plan's coverage and regulations. If your insurance carrier requires a referral from your primary care physician in order to see a specialist, please contact our office at least seven days before your desired specialist appointment date to ensure that we have enough time to process your referral. Issuing a referral does not guarantee that your insurance company will cover the service. Please check with your insurance carrier for details.
