Arthritis and Rheumatology Specialists focuses on diagnosing and treating arthritis and other disorders related to the muscles, joints and bones. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune disorders which affect the immune system, such as lupus, vasculitis and Sjogren’s syndrome. Our physicians and staff work with you and your primary care physician to diagnose and treat these rheumatic disorders so you can live a healthy and active life. For your convenience, we have offices in the Suburban Outpatient Pavilion and a satellite office in Ephrata.
About our providers
Our rheumatologists are physicians who are board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology. They maintain the high quality standards you have come to associate with Lancaster General Health.
What to expect when you visit
Your initial visit includes a general medical evaluation, which may include diagnostic tests. We can draw many of the blood tests our doctors order right at our offices. Based on your diagnosis, we will develop treatment recommendations and help you choose an option that’s right for you. Since many of the conditions we treat are chronic, we will work with you to create a long-term management plan to help minimize the impact of the disorder.
Services for arthritis and osteoporosis
We offer a wide range of services, including joint injections and intravenous infusion of specialty medications to manage arthritis. Our Osteoporosis Testing Facility offers Sahara quantitative ultrasound scans of the heel as well as bone mineral density/DEXA scans (View our infographic for more info) to assess bone fracture risk. Rheumatologists certified in bone densitometry review your bone density scans and work with your referring physician on an osteoporosis prevention and treatment plan. The facility is located at the Suburban Outpatient Pavilion with satellites at Norlanco Outpatient Center and Kissel Hill Outpatient Center.
