Lancaster General Health’s Blood Donor Center will recognize World Blood Donor Day by holding a blood drive on Thursday, June 14 from 2 to 7 p.m. at its Kissel Hill Outpatient Center community room, 51 Peters Rd., Lititz. All donors will be treated to “make your own sundaes” and will receive a blood donor T- shirt. For information call 544-0170.
All blood donated to Lancaster General Health is used in Lancaster County for surgery, cancer patients, and premature babies. Every three seconds someone needs blood and at Lancaster General Health, 70 to 90 pints of blood is needed each day. It only takes one hour to donate one pint of blood that can save three lives. With the high demand for blood, Lancaster General Health’s Blood Donor Center relies on the generosity of its donors.
