Recognized as a regional leader
We are the first breast cancer program in Lancaster County to be accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a consortium of organizations dedicated to improving the quality of breast care. Accreditation means that our Breast Cancer Program meets their rigorous standards and offers the components that provide the most efficient and up-to-date care for patients with diseases of the breast.

We are also a member of the Penn Cancer Network, a select group of hospitals recognized for excellence in patient care and commitment to improving community health. This affiliation with Penn means you can receive the majority of your care locally. It also gives you access to national clinical trials, as well as to Penn specialists should the need arise.

Quality in detection and diagnosis
Early detection and diagnosis are important to successful breast cancer outcomes, Lancaster General Health offers sophisticated screening and diagnostic tools, including digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and a range of biopsy techniques. We offer screening mammography at all five conveniently located Centers for Breast Health.
Comprehensive scope of treatment options
When facing a diagnosis of breast cancer, you want to know that you and your doctor have access to all the latest treatment options in order to remove the cancer, stop its growth and prevent it from spreading. Lancaster General Health offers access to a full range of advanced therapies, including:
- Radiation therapy, including external beam radiation and MammoSite® brachytherapy
