Support Groups


Brain Tumor Community Group
Provides support and education for anyone diagnosed with a brain tumor or has been affected by a loved one's experience with brain cancer. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the meeting. Group meets third Thursday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the LG Health Wellness Center, Second Floor, Suburban Outpatient Pavilion, 2100 Harrisburg Pike. Iris Support Group (Breast Cancer support group)
If you are a breast cancer survivor or have recently diagnosed, we invite you to join us for compassion and encouragement. The Iris Connection is a welcoming support group open to women of all ages. Group meets the third Thursday of every month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. First-time attendees: Please contact Jen Edmonds at 717-544-3755 to confirm meeting time.


Journaling for Healing
Informal gathering will introduce inspirational prose to help you tap into your creative spirit and aid the healing process. Group meets each Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the LG Health Wellness Center, Second Floor, Suburban Outpatient Pavilion, 2100 Harrisburg Pike. First-time attendees: To confirm meeting time and location, please contact Lindy Malins at malins@comcast.net or call (717) 397-2254 and leave a message with your contact information. No registration needed.

Leukemia, Lymphoma Support Group
For family and friends who have been touched by a diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or myelodysplastic syndrome. Meetings provide support, education, and resources in an informal setting. Runs in collaboration with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Group meets the first Tuesday of every month, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. First-time attendees: Please contact Bob Hostetter at 717-872-9016 to confirm meeting time and location.

Survivorship: Life After Cancer Treatment
It is often after cancer treatment ends that individuals and families struggle to regain a sense of normalcy and balance while putting their cancer experience into perspective and moving ahead as a survivor. Coping with the complex and often-confusing range of thoughts and emotions during this time can be a major challenge. This group, facilitated by LG Health staff, provides a safe environment for those who are looking to meet other survivors for friendly conversation and open discussion about how cancer has impacted their lives. Group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC)
SPOHNC hopes to provide information, support, and encouragement to a greater number of individuals, empowering them with the knowledge necessary to go forward. This group, facilitated by LG Health staff, provides a safe environment for those who are looking to meet other survivors for friendly conversation and open discussion about how cancer has impacted their lives. Group meets the last Tuesday of every other month, beginning each January, from 4-5 p.m.

The Knitting Club
For those interested in learning how to knit, or has a knitting project that may require some additional instruction or refreshment of your skills. Meets every other Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. In the family waiting room on the east side of the ABBCI Infusion Center. Patients, family, and staff are welcome to come and enjoy conversation, creativity, and a life skill that will provide hours of fulfillment. Please feel free to bring your own supplies if you wish, however, yarn and needles will be provided. No registration necessary. Urological Cancer Support Group
Provides both emotional/social support time as well as education to assist participants with the challenges and concerns associated with the diagnosis of a urological cancer such as prostate, bladder, testicular, and renal. Group meets the second Tuesday of every month, from 7-8:30 p.m.


Living Well...Integrating Mind, Body & Spirit
This eight-week series of individual classes for anyone impacted by cancer includes yoga for any ability level, guided instruction in meditation and instructor-led discussion. Free.
