Survivorship and Supportive Services
The Lancaster General Health Cancer Center Survivorship and Supportive Services Program, founded and supported by the United Auxiliaries to Lancaster General Hospital, addresses the physical, spiritual and psychosocial needs of cancer patients from diagnosis throughout treatment and beyond. Its goal is to provide support, education and tools to empower cancer patients during their transition from treatment to everyday living.
Survivorship: Building a new life
More people are surviving cancer than ever before. As a result, planning for life after cancer is an important part of the journey. Beginning with our lung and breast cancer patients, LG Health now offers additional help with a:
- Post-treatment summary—a detailed accounting of your clinical treatment for your records
- LiveSTRONG® care plan—a custom care plan developed through the OncoLink® system, a web-based cancer resource available through our affiliation with the Penn Cancer Network. The plan outlines long-term survivorship and follow-up care needs.
Supportive services
During treatment for cancer, you can rely on an extensive array of supportive services that complement your comprehensive clinical care plan. This includes access to:
- Spiritual care
- Social work
- Nutritional support
- Financial services
- Wellness community programs and services
- Access to community services for cancer patients
- Rehabilitation services
- Hospice and palliative care
