Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation

These mindfulness meditations are designed to help strengthen your ability to notice what’s going on in your life and choose where you focus your attention. Practicing mindfulness involves paying attention to how things actually are, rather than how we want them to be. Instead of trying to make discomfort go away, we work on increasing our capacity to bear it. When practiced regularly, mindfulness meditation can have a significant effect on reducing depression, anxiety, tension and other negative emotions.  For more information or support in using these recordings, call Oncology Support Services at 544-3755.

The following recordings are part of the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class.  They are available for anyone to use.  The brief introductions give an overview of the meditation, the meditation practices are between 18-25 minutes in length.  Please feel free to share with others, but do not make recordings of these meditations without permission of LGH.
