Lung Cancer Studies
Clinical trials continue to improve the outcome and decrease the side effects associated with treatments for lung and other cancers. As part of our commitment to improving community health and patient care, LG Health/Penn Medicine brings numerous studies sponsored by the National Cancer Institute to our patients.
Types of clinical trials
We participate in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials.
Phase II trials are used to show that new treatments can be effective in a given type of cancer.
Phase III trials compare the effectiveness of new treatments with existing standard treatments.
Lung cancer clinical trials
If you have lung cancer, you may wish to participate in one of our clinical trials of promising new treatments. Your doctor and nurse navigator can explain the risks and benefits, answer your questions and help you make a decision about participation. Current trials include:
Phase III trial for advanced non squamous and squamous non-small cell lung cancer
Phase II study for recurrent small cell lung cancer
