Marie E. Acebo
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
A member of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team since 1989, Marie specializes in the care and management of Pediatric Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. She has been a part of the Pediatric Diabetes Clinic at Lancaster General Health since the clinic began, and she is also an expert in treating eating disorders through nutrition. After earning a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Eastern Michigan University, she completed a clinical dietitian internship at the University of Michigan Medical Center. There, she developed a passion for outstanding diabetes care, which she shares with patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
Faye Fittery
Registered Nurse, Master of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator
A certified diabetes nurse educator at Lancaster General Health since 1989, Faye provides diabetes education for adults as well as diabetes education and management for children and adolescents. Faye earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Mennonite University and a master’s in nursing from Villanova University. She has served as a patient education coordinator, staff nurse and nursing instructor, and she brings a broad perspective to her work with patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
Kimberly Frey
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
At the Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Kim offers private consultations and group educational programs, and she also helps young people manage their diabetes through the Lancaster General Health Pediatric Diabetes Clinic. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in nutrition education from Immaculata University, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge with patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
Tabitha A. Jones
Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator
Before joining the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team as a diabetes educator in 2008, Tabitha worked with the LG Health Women & Babies Hospital nursing team for eight years in various roles, including staff RN, nursing supervisor and nursing instructor. . She also earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Tabitha enjoys working with adult and pediatric patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Sylvia Kilmer
Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator
A certified diabetes nurse educator at Lancaster General Health since 1992, Sylvia enjoys working with adult and pediatric patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. A graduate of the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, she holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Millersville University. At LG Health, she has worked as a staff nurse, staff development nurse and dialysis nurse. Her experience as a dialysis nurse, caring for patients with complications from diabetes, inspired her to pursue diabetes education. Her membership in the American Association of Diabetes Educators is a sign of her commitment to helping advance the practice of diabetes self-management.
Elizabeth Mammina-Dincher
Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Pediatrics, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist/ Certified Diabetes Educator
As a certified diabetes educator at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Elizabeth enjoys helping both pediatric and adult patients manage their diabetes and their weight, and she also helps address issues such as failure to thrive and food allergies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from the State University of New York and worked in Boston and Germany after completing her clinical dietetic internship. She was certified as a specialist in pediatrics by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and she is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics—so patients can always count on her for up-to-date information.
Mary E. Papadoplos
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
The manager of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Mary began her career at Lancaster General Health as a diabetes educator in 1997. She earned a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Marywood College in 1985 and worked in a variety of clinical and managerial roles before she joined the team at Lancaster General Health. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and she is fully committed to helping patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center get the resources they need to manage their diabetes.
Jacqueline Roberts
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
Jacqueline joined the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team in 1998, after serving in clinical positions at other area hospitals, a management role at Brethren Village and consulting at other long-term care facilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed a dietetic internship with the Central Pennsylvania Dietetic Association. Today, she provides nutrition and diabetes education for both individuals and groups at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
Mary Anne Young
Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator
A member of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team since 1995, Mary Anne helps patients understand insulin administration, byetta starts, glucose monitoring and other topics related to diabetes management and self-care. Prior to joining Lancaster General Health, she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pennsylvania State University and worked in public health, hospital and college health nursing. Her extensive nursing background contributes to the exceptional nursing care that patients experience at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
