Meet The Team


If you’re looking for better ways to manage your diabetes and enjoy a healthy lifestyle, you can find answers at The Diabetes & Nutrition Center of Lancaster General Health. We have brought together the area’s largest team of certified diabetes educators (CDEs) and other professionals who specialize in diabetes care and who can help you learn to prevent serious long-term health problems so you can live a healthy, active life. Education is available at convenient locations. Call for hours and appointment availability.

Marie E. Acebo, RD, CDE, LDN

A member of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team since 1989, Marie specializes in the care and management of Pediatric Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. She has been a part of the Pediatric Diabetes Clinic at Lancaster General Health since the clinic began, and she is also an expert in treating eating disorders through nutrition. After earning a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Eastern Michigan University, she completed a clinical dietitian internship at the University of Michigan Medical Center. There, she developed a passion for outstanding diabetes care, which she shares with patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
 


Bonnie L. Bosley, B.A., R.N., C.D.E

A recent addition to our team in 2013, Bonnie joins us with a variety of experience in diabetes education, community health and school nursing. After years of working as a Registered Nurse, she returned to school and earned a bachelor's degree in Health Education from Western Maryland College graduating Summa Cum Laude. She enjoys teaching and recently made the decision to specialize in Diabetes Education and earned her Certification in Diabetes education. Bonnie enjoys making a difference in the lives of patients with diabetes both in a one on one consult and in the classroom setting. Her passion for diabetes education inspires her every day to provide the best care for her patients.



Kimberly Frey

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist

At the Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Kim offers private consultations and group educational programs, and she also helps young people manage their diabetes through the Lancaster General Health Pediatric Diabetes Clinic. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in nutrition education from Immaculata University, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge with patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.

 

Pamala J. Gress, BSN, RN, CCM

Joining the team in August 2015, Pam has worked in several different nursing capacities during her 35 year career as a nurse. She graduated from Reading Hospital school of Nursing in 1980 and has been employed as an oncology nurse, home health nurse, care manager and nursing supervisor in a primary care office. She joined the Diabetes and Nutrition Center in order to pursue her love of teaching diabetes and direct patient care. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree, graduating summa cum laude, from the Pa College of Health Sciences in 2012 and is currently studying for her Master’s degree in nursing from the same college. Pam is especially interested in assisting patients to improve their health status through teaching and education.  She enjoys working with all ages of patients who  have diabetes. Pam strives to provide compassionate, thorough care and education to every person she meets. 



Sylvia Kilmer

Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator

A certified diabetes nurse educator at Lancaster General Health since 1992, Sylvia enjoys working with adult and pediatric patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. A graduate of the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, she holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Millersville University. At LG Health, she has worked as a staff nurse, staff development nurse and dialysis nurse. Her experience as a dialysis nurse, caring for patients with complications from diabetes, inspired her to pursue diabetes education. Her membership in the American Association of Diabetes Educators is a sign of her commitment to helping advance the practice of diabetes self-management.
 


Mary E. Papadoplos

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist

The manager of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Mary began her career at Lancaster General Health as a diabetes educator in 1997. She earned a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Marywood College in 1985 and worked in a variety of clinical and managerial roles before she joined the team at Lancaster General Health. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and she is fully committed to helping patients at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center get the resources they need to manage their diabetes.

 

Stephanie Prestileo, RD, CDE, LDN

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Instructor, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist

Stephanie joined the Diabetes and Nutrition Center team in 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. Afterward, she worked as a hospital inpatient dietitian and later as a community dietitian with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. She enjoys working with women with gestational diabetes, teaching diabetes group classes, and helping people meet their diabetes related goals. She offers individual nutrition counseling sessions for diabetes, obesity, and heart disease for all ages.

 

Therese M. Regan, MS, RD, LDN 

After working in Lancaster in a variety of settings in the field of Dietetics, Therese recently joined the team in July 2015. Therese received her undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University and her Master’s from Rutgers University. With a career spanning over 30 years that includes both inpatient and outpatient positions, community involvement and adjunct teaching experience, her current role provides a perfect opportunity to help more people understand that what we eat has a major effect on our overall health and well-being. She is committed to providing the resources and motivation to help patients achieve their nutrition goals. 


Jacqueline Roberts

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist

Jacqueline joined the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team in 1998, after serving in clinical positions at other area hospitals, a management role at Brethren Village and consulting at other long-term care facilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed a dietetic internship with the Central Pennsylvania Dietetic Association. Today, she provides nutrition and diabetes education for both individuals and groups at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
 


Mary Anne Young

Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Diabetes Educator

A member of the Diabetes & Nutrition Center team since 1995, Mary Anne helps patients understand insulin administration, byetta starts, glucose monitoring and other topics related to diabetes management and self-care. Prior to joining Lancaster General Health, she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pennsylvania State University and worked in public health, hospital and college health nursing. Her extensive nursing background contributes to the exceptional nursing care that patients experience at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center.
