Areas of the Emergency Department

There are four areas of the Emergency Department:

  • Trauma/Resuscitation

  • FastCare

  • Main Emergency Department

  • Behavioral Health

The majority of our patients are seen in FastCare or Main Emergency Department.

This area of the Emergency Department treats patients with minor ailments such as colds, sore throat, small lacerations or cuts, sprains, simple broken bones and other conditions that do not require a long evaluation and treatment.

Main Emergency Department
Patients with more complex and/or serious conditions that may require more extensive evaluation and treatment are seen in the Main Emergency Department. The triage nurse will determine the severity of your condition based on your symptoms and vital signs and decide which area will best serve your medical needs. Critically ill or injured patients and patients requiring intensive care are always given priority.
