"I have spent the majority of my career working as an emergency nurse. Working in that environment has helped me grow and appreciate the true unpredictability of life. After joining the trauma care team at LGH, I am again reminded of this daily.

Caring for a trauma patient is truly a team effort. There are so many needs that must be met whether they are physical, emotional, personal or spiritual. Our patients and their families are reliant on our trauma team to provide the best care possible. It is only as a team that we can successfully accomplish this.

I chose the nursing profession many years ago due to my nature to care for others. As my roles within nursing have changed over my career, I am remined of a quote by Maya Angelou.
