Pineapple Manor Show House

417 Manor Avenue, Millersville, PA

About This Project

This event will feature local interior designers, artisans, and vendors for a stunning event to benefit the Child Life Program in Pediatrics at Lancaster General Hospital.

Children today confront a wide variety of stressful and potentially traumatic events that can overwhelm their natural ability to cope and heal. Experiences related to health care and hospitalization can lead to feelings of fear, confusion, loss of control and isolation that can inhibit their natural development and have negative effects on their physical and emotional health. A Child Life Program provides specialists who are trained to help children cope with the stress and uncertainty of these life changing events and will focus on the psychosocial and developmental needs of children by collaborating with families and other health care providers.
We are thrilled to have your support for the Child Life Program as you tour this beautiful, historic house, attend some special events, and shop our vendors!

Originally named The Harnish House, this three-story private residence was constructed in 1885 for John S. Landis and S. Elma (Leachy) Landis, after Mr. Landis’ retirement. Named after its longest tenants, The Harnish family, it has also served as the home of many prominent men and women of Lancaster County including renowned artist Jeannette Hess; feldspar and flint quarry owner, Oliver Shenk; and Paul Scheid, owner of Scheid’s Produce. In 2017, Don & Keely Heany purchased the residence and began their dream of reviving this Lancaster County landmark into a lovely B&B and small events venue for all to enjoy.
