Your maternity services physicians
Depending on your experience, you may encounter these specialty providers:
- Obstetricians who focus on prenatal care, pregnancy and delivery of newborns
- Certified nurse midwives who have specific training and certification for pregnancy care
- Perinatologists who oversee care of high risk pregnancy patients, also known as maternal-fetal medicine specialists
- Neonatologists who specialize in the care of newborns who may be premature or face other special conditions when born
