Vaccine for Children (VFC)
Immunization is the best protection against many childhood diseases. To help protect children in Lancaster County, Lancaster General Health provides ChildProtect, a free immunization service through the VFC program. VFC is a federally funded program that provides vaccines for children (from birth to age 18) without health insurance or those children who are enrolled in Medical Assistance. Started in 1991, we have given over 150,000 vaccines to nearly 69,000 children.
Through ChildProtect, immunizations are available January through November at the Bart Township Fire Company in Bart, and the Columbia Health Center in Columbia.

No appointments are necessary; however, you must bring your child’s up to date immunization record.
Due to Federal regulations, only children with no medical insurance or those who are enrolled in Medical Assistance are eligible. Children whose insurance does not cover immunizations, may receive free immunizations by contacting the following organizations:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that pre-teens and teens still need vaccines.
