The clinic is dedicated exclusively to the risk assessment, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in women. Dr. Chatha works with each patient to proactively manage their heart-risk factors with strategies to improve overall health.
Dr. Chatha is a regular presenter at LG Health’s Be a Heart Smart Woman event each spring. She speaks on advances in cardiovascular research and delivers practical information for women to reduce their risk of heart disease.
Women’s Digestive Health
Sadiya Cheshty, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with RGAL, an independent practice working collaboratively with LG Health at the Women’s Specialty Center.
Digestive disorders uniquely affect women. Many women suffer from reflux, constipation, diarrhea, increased gas, bloating after eating, fatigue and the many other symptoms of gastrointestinal distress. These can disrupt and interfere with the daily activities and quality of life of many women.
Research indicates that gastrointestinal (GI) distress is more than twice as common in women as in men, and that women have a greater incidence of complicating factors. Certain GI symptoms indicate serious functional problems that can lead to disease. Even colorectal cancer screenings for women require special consideration. Resolving GI problems does not just improve immediate quality of life by eliminating unpleasant symptoms — it also promotes long-term health.
Fortunately, there are many steps every woman can take to support healthy GI function and resolve digestive health problems. The Women’s Specialty Center is dedicated to helping women find relief from their gastrointestinal distress, focusing on symptoms and causes of common digestive conditions, and treatments for digestive problems.
Dr. Cheshty encourages women undergo proactive screenings and adopt healthy lifestyles promoting wellness and prevention. Her clinical areas of interest include women’s health, gastrointestinal cancer, hepatitis, and Endoscopic Ultrasound.
