When I joined LG Health: November 2020
What I do and how I can help you: I’m a Physician Assistant in Medical Oncology. I work primarily in POD 2 – the Green Pod – but see patients from all of the medical oncologists as necessary. I generally see chemotherapy follow-up and pre-treatment visits, as well as urgent care and symptom management visits to help our patients deal with the difficult challenges of cancer and treatment.
Why I like working at LG Health: The culture of LG Health really drew me in. I appreciate the diversity, inclusivity and that the organization and people are always striving to better serve their patients. I love that we are able to be so focused on providing direct care to our community, backed by the support of Penn Medicine.
Hometown: I’m originally from Plymouth, Michigan, a small town outside of Detroit, and have a lot of love for the city of Detroit.
Education: I have an Anthropology degree from Michigan State (go green!), went to University of Denver for a Master’s in International Human Rights, and received my Physician Assistant degree from Penn State School of Medicine.
Where I live now: I live in and love the city of Lancaster! My husband and I moved to the city in the midst of Covid and so have not been able to take full advantage of all that it has to offer, but being lovers of the outdoors, are really enjoying great access to nearby parks and recreation areas.
Family and pets: I’m married to very funny man and have a little 4-month-old black Lab pup who loves to snuggle and chew on everything.
Hobbies and interests: I love to run, hike, camp and spend time in the water when it’s warm and snowboard when it’s cold. I have also been known to get lost in a good book and play around with clay on a pottery wheel.
Something people might be surprised to know about me I have a deep love for post-apocalyptic and dystopian future fiction books.
