Even though Lancaster General Hospital’s Joint Commission survey ended Aug. 28, several survey findings required additional attention and data submission.
Data was collected and measured from November to March, with a goal of 90 percent or higher average compliance to each standard. As of March 15, we are pleased to share that all 10 non-compliant findings were accepted by the Joint Commission.
Three of the 10 findings were either directly or indirectly related to provider practice and behavior. These three findings included: read back and verify critical values, H&P completion according to the Bylaws and completed consents.

The good news is that we have successfully completed all steps required in the accreditation process. The challenge is for us to sustain compliance to these three important standards.
