Chet Morrison, M.D., offered three suggestions for fighting gun violence in a recent Sunday LNP op-ed.
LG Health/Penn Medicine trauma surgeon Chet Morrison, M.D., gets a close-up look at the consequences of violence in America.
In a recent Sunday LNP op-ed, Dr. Morrison detailed the “intense, rewarding, bloody, sometimes grim work” of treating trauma patients in Lancaster County, which has a higher crime rate than Pennsylvania as a whole.
Dr. Morrison also suggested three ways our community can work together to fight gun violence: stronger law enforcement, additional research and innovative programs.
“I see firearm violence as an assault on public health, and I think every enlightened citizen, regardless of political orientation, can agree on this and work toward a solution,” he wrote.
