Robert Faizon, M.D.
Robert A. Faizon, M.D., has been named Medical Director, Quality and Safety, for Women & Babies Hospital. Dr. Faizon will work collaboratively with WBH leadership on quality, safety and patient satisfaction, with a primary focus on development and implementation of standard care pathways supported by simulation.
Dr. Faizon joined LG Health in 2004, as a staff OB/GYN in the Family Medicine Residency Program. A graduate of University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Yale School of Medicine Bridgeport Campus. He also served four years as an active duty Major in the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Faizon’s LG Health committee service includes the Institutional Review Board, Performance Improvement and OB Care Management. He helped to implement several safety programs at WBH, including responsive codes to postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia and ALCS training in Obstetrics.
Dr. Faizon, who will continue to practice at Family & Maternity Medicine, firmly believes that a physician who is well trained with evidence-based practice guidelines will have the best patient care outcomes. He will report directly to Michael R. Ripchinski, M.D., Physician Executive for Quality, and indirectly to George Olt, M.D., Chair, LGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
