Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s commitment to high-quality health care was recognized with two recent awards.

The Leapfrog Group awarded Lancaster General Hospital an "A" for its efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States. Of the 50 hospitals in Pennsylvania who received an “A,” LGH was the only one in Lancaster County to receive the top honor.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country based on 28 national performance measures. The Hospital Safety Grade represents a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

"Lancaster General Health has no higher priority than providing our patients with safe, high-quality health care," said Jan Bergen, LG Health President & CEO. "We are proud to receive this national recognition affirming our commitment to patient safety and sharing critical safety information transparently with our community."
