Michael J. Reihart, D.O., was named a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services by the National Association of EMS Physicians. NAEMSP  is an organization of physicians and other professionals partnering to provide leadership and foster excellence in EMS.
 
The designation was established to recognize NAEMSP members’ contributions to the association, the EMS profession, and the development and advancement of EMS. The 53 new Fellows join the 226 Fellows who were awarded the designation in 2016 and 2017.
 
In order to maintain the FAEMS designation, Fellows must:
 
• Continue their membership in and contribution to the association
• Continue their Board certification in EMS and
• Continue contributing to the subspecialty of EMS

Gary S. Gehman, M.D., of LGHP Family Medicine Abbeyville, was interviewed for an LNP story on the importance of several types of regular health screenings as patients age.
 
Joseph M. Kontra, M.D., Chief of Infectious Diseases, was quoted in an LNP story on Lyme disease in Lancaster County.
 
Stroke specialists Ram Chavali, M.D., and Murray S. Flaster, M.D., were interviewed for a WGAL story on mechanical thrombectomy, an advanced stroke procedure now available at Lancaster General Hospital.
