Learn new skills for caring for seriously ill patients while earning free CME/CEUs. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is a member of the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC). This membership provides our entire staff (anyone with an LG Health email address) with access to a series of online educational modules that focus on relieving suffering in serious illness–from difficult conversations, to advanced care planning, to symptom management and beyond. The courses are case-based, interactive, and provide free CME/CEU credits for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, case managers, and social workers. You can access these and other resources by registering for a user account. If you need assistance setting up your account, contact membership@capc.org or call 212-201-2674.

Influenza CME Webinar
Last year, more than 120,000 people in Pennsylvania contracted the flu, and over 500 were hospitalized. Vaccination is the first line of defense, but early diagnosis and prompt antiviral treatment are important for those already infected. In this pre-recorded webinar, originally presented as a lecture at Lancaster General Hospital, Past President of the Infectious Disease Society of America Dr. Paul Auwaerter, MBA, and our own Drs. Thomas C. Raff and Jean David Dumornay, MBA, discuss how to reduce complications and hospitalizations associated with influenza. This program has been approved for AMA, MOC, ANCC, AAPA and AAFP credits.

ODM: A Vision for Diabetic Eye Screening
Diabetes often causes blindness, but screening can prevent it. Drs. Christian Hermansen and Michael R. Pavlica use patient case studies to explain the importance of retinal screening and how new technology makes it easy. Earn up to 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and 1.0 MOC points [and patient safety MOC credit] in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Also approved for 1.0 AAFP Prescribed credits. Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
