Three LG Health teams recently were honored with 2019 Penn Medicine Quality and Patient Safety Awards. Awards were presented Feb. 4 in Philadelphia.

The awards, which are chosen by a multidisciplinary committee, acknowledge departments that have exhibited leadership and innovation in activities that ensure high-quality clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, patient safety and cost efficiency.

The Lancaster General Hospital, LG Health Physicians and Pharmacy teams won the Quality & Patient Safety Award for “Reducing Readmissions and Medication Error in High Risk Populations: Creation of a Hospital Wide Response to the Mediset Patient to Assist with Transition of Care.”

The Respiratory Therapy team won the Operational Award for “Daily Audits of Ventilator Settings and Preventing Ventilator Associated Events.”

Lancaster General Hospital has been named to Healthgrades’ 2020 America’s 50 Best Hospitals.

America’s Best Hospitals is Healthgrades’ highest distinction. The list is based solely on clinical quality outcomes for 32 conditions and procedures, and rewards hospitals that consistently exhibit exceptional, comprehensive quality care.
