Physician assistant students (PA-S) in primary care/urgent care have opportunities to collaborate directly with a physician assistant and formally participate on an integrated physician-directed team. Training includes diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. The PA-S will take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, and make diagnoses. The PA-S will also learn to work as a team member in caring for patients within the complexity of clinical and non-clinical operations.
