Clinical studies benefit patients and our community.
Lancaster General Health recognizes the importance of clinical research as both a benefit to patients and community members, and a professional development opportunity for physicians and staff.
The Lancaster General Health Research Institute, part of the Office of Academic Affairs, supports research throughout the health system, offering research administration, medical and operations direction, data analytics, and compliance and quality assurance services.
Most research is conducted by investigators and research staff at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, the Heart & Vascular Institute, and the Research Institute. Other departments and specialties, including trauma, nursing, primary care, bariatrics, emergency medicine, nephrology, population health, public health, cleft-palate, and pharmacy, also develop and conduct investigator-initiated studies.
The LG Health Family Medicine and Pharmacy residency programs have strong research components, as do fellowships in family medicine, population health and geriatrics.
