Alexander J. Haines, PharmD

Temple University School of Pharmacy - 2021

My pharmacy journey began my senior year of high school, in which I started out as a Pharmacy Technician at my hometown CVS. I would go on to Intern for both my hometown CVS and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg throughout pharmacy school. As a pharmacy student, I was involved in a variety of research projects, volunteering initiatives, and professional organizations in which I held leadership positions for Temple's chapters of ASCP (President) and APhA (Vice-President of Patient Care). My professional interests are highly focused in ambulatory care; however, I enjoy any clinical setting in which I practice, including the Intensive Care Unit, internal medicine, and cardiology. After PGY-1 residency, I intend to pursue PGY-2 training in ambulatory care so that I can practice as a clinical pharmacist under a collaborative practice agreement. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, watching sports, trying out new places to eat, and spending time with my family, friends, and my 2 kittens.

Major Research Project: Acute Pain Management for Patients on Buprenorphine for Medication Assisted Therapy
MUE: Pharmacists' Role in Care Gap Closures
Committee: Stroke Care Management

Felicia Harrsch, PharmD

University of Maryland School of Pharmacy - 2021

In 2014, I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of the Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior. Upon graduating, I worked in an epilepsy and stem cell research lab at Wesleyan University. My path in research led me to wanting to pursue a pharmacy degree. During pharmacy school at the University of Maryland, I was active in various student organizations, such as President of our student chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and professional liaison in the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists. I also enjoyed participating in community service initiatives, both in and outside of school. Working as a pharmacy intern around Baltimore, Maryland at Safeway Pharmacy, Spring Grove Hospital Center, and the Johns Hopkins Home Care Group, afforded me many opportunities to explore several facets of pharmacy. My professional interests include ambulatory care, cardiology, and specialty pharmacy. I would like to practice as a clinical pharmacist working in a collaborative practice agreement to assist in managing patients’ medications. In my free time, I enjoy many outdoor activities, including riding my horse, being with friends and family, and playing with my dog and cats.

Major Research Project: The safety of direct oral anticoagulant therapy in patients hospitalized with acute kidney injury
MUE: Proton pump inhibitor stewardship and deprescribing

Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, Shenandoah University - 2021

Currently my professional interests include geriatrics, chronic disease state management, and transitions of care. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy time with my family and friends and spending time outdoors.
