In a recent Sunday LNP op-ed, LG Health/Penn Medicine trauma physician Chet Morrison, M.D., detailed the “intense, rewarding, bloody, sometimes grim work” of treating trauma patients in Lancaster County, which has a higher crime rate than Pennsylvania as a whole.
Dr. Morrison suggests three ways our community can work together to fight gun violence: stronger law enforcement, additional research and innovative programs.
“I see firearm violence as an assault on public health, and I think every enlightened citizen, regardless of political orientation, can agree on this and work toward a solution,” he wrote.
