Initiative part of National Healthcare Decisions Day

LG Health hosted two community events in April for Advance Care Planning in Lebanon and Lancaster. The response to the topic was overwhelming attendance with more than 180 participants and a willingness to take needed actions.
Taking care to select a trusted individual to carry out end-of-life care wishes, having the conversation with medical providers and family well in advance of any healthcare need and memorializing your wishes were just some of the tips offered by a panel, which consisted of medical providers, an attorney and a hospice director.
Dr. Leon Kraybill, Chief of Geriatrics for LG Health, participated in both sessions and shared a very moving and personal perspective.

Randall Oyer, MD, Director of Oncology, Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, moderated both sessions. In Lebanon, pictured here, the panelists included, L-R, Leon S. Kraybill, MD – Chief, LG Health/Penn Medicine, Division of Geriatrics; R. Scott DeLong, MD – LG Health/Penn Medicine Physicians, Geriatrics, Lititz; Katherine Betz Kravitz – Partner, Barley Snyder, Attorneys-at-Law, Lancaster; and Joan Harrold, MD, MPH, FACP, FAAHPM, Medical Director, Hospice of Lancaster County.
