Each October, in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Silent Witness Exhibit is displayed to build awareness of the issue and remember the men, women, children and pets who have died due to intimate partner violence.

In conjunction with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, Lancaster General Health, Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County, and Lancaster County Victim/Witness Services display the Silent Witness Exhibit at seven locations in Lancaster County.

The exhibit of 15 life-sized wooden figures represents the men, women, and children who died in Lancaster County as a result of domestic violence. Victims’ families created life stories to display on the figures.

The goal of the exhibit is to promote the need and hope for change. Domestic violence impacts one in four women and one in seven men in their lifetime.
