In an effort to increase awareness about the connection between mental and physical health, Let’s Talk, Lancaster is participating in the Change Direction Campaign, a movement to encourage people to learn the five signs of emotional suffering.

Although 20% of Americans suffer from a mental illness, many people are not aware of the signs of emotional suffering: personality change, agitation, withdrawnness, poor self-care, hopelessness.

The goal of the Change Direction Campaign is to raise awareness and change the culture of mental health so that everyone in need receives the care and support they deserve. The campaign encourages all Americans to pay attention to their emotional well-being and serves as a reminder that emotional health is just as important as physical health.

Let’s Talk, Lancaster has pledged to share the signs of emotional suffering with 275,000 community members.
