Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is a member of the Tobacco Free Coalition of Lancaster County, a coalition dedicated to preventing young people from using tobacco and nicotine, providing resources to help individuals quit tobacco and eliminating tobacco smoke pollution.
On March 20, 2019, LG Health will participate in the annual Kick Butts Day, a national day of activism to encourage children to stay tobacco and nicotine free. Kick Butts Day is organized by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, and empowers youth and community members to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco.
Kick Butts Day began in 1996 as part of a larger initiative to raise awareness for youth leaders and health advocates regarding tobacco use in their communities.
Schools, businesses and communities are encouraged to organize events that highlight the harmful consequences of tobacco use, the tobacco industry’s marketing tactics and the proven solutions that can win the fight against tobacco.
