Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute will host an online event exploring breast cancer prevention and navigation after a diagnosis, Tuesday, September 29 at 7 p.m.
Local breast cancer survivor Kim Smith serves as emcee for Get Comfortable with Cancer Prevention. The evening includes tips from cancer experts, a chat room for Q&A, and a few added twists. Participants should plan to curl up in a cozy corner and fill up their favorite mug for this informational session on breast cancer.
In the Lineup
Medical oncologist Dr. Beth Horenkamp will offer four healthy lifestyle tips that can help you stay well and prevent breast cancer. Breast surgeon Dr. Marnie Kaplan will share the importance of screening mammograms and knowing who to turn to if a breast cancer diagnosis is determined.
Viewers will be offered a “stretch break” and encouraged to get up off the couch for a quick Zumba session. Attendees are urged to tune in to the virtual event early for a behind-the-scenes tour of the living green wall at the Cancer Institute.
