Landis Communities understands the value an experienced partner can bring to managing the health and wellness of their team members. Their relationship with Penn Medicine HealthWorks began in 2017 with wellness education and prevention efforts that proved valuable to their workforce. Shortly thereafter, senior leadership and board members approved plans for an onsite employer-sponsored primary care practice designed to improve access and engagement, while simplifying the health-care experience for members and their families. The practice opened its doors five days a week last September, with a clinical team devoted to Landis Communities team members.

“Team members are enjoying the services and the friendly, professional staff. It has been great to partner with experts who bring collaboration and flexibility in developing a program best suited for our team members. We appreciate the focus on relationship-based care that proactively engages team members in wellness and preventive services,” said Allen Heinly, Vice President of Human Resources.

Streamlining the pre-employment process within the practice has been a valuable component.

“We introduce new employees to the onsite practice and it offers an immediate gateway into the opportunity for improved health. Recruiting and retaining employees, and supporting them in their efforts toward improved health and wellness, is our goal,” added Allen.

Employee health screenings facilitated by the practice have been well received, with participants realizing the benefits of keeping well and the opportunity to have a trusted partner on their journey. The availability of same day/next day appointments is extremely convenient, as is access to lab testing and commonly prescribed medications when needed.

The Clio Go app makes goal setting, secure messaging and care coordination with the clinical team quick and easy.  All services and benefits are provided by Landis Homes at no cost for most members. For those on an employer sponsored high-deductible plan, the practice provides an affordable alternative for acute primary care needs.

In addition to the Meadowview Health location at Landis Communities, members also have access to Penn Medicine HealthWorks employer-sponsored practices at Rock Medical Lititz and Queen Street Lancaster.

While the customized approach to health-care solutions continues to expand for Landis Communities, they are quick to note the incredible value of dealing with a single trusted provider for all their employee health services.  An employer-sponsored primary care practice provides navigation and referral alignment with the benefit plan, improving care gaps and optimizing clinical care and value to both the employer and employee.
