Traci’s challenges with her weight began when she transitioned from active teen athlete to college undergraduate, where poor eating habits and a less active lifestyle caught up with her.
After years of failed diets and “self-attempts” to adopt a healthier lifestyle, Traci considered bariatric surgery and enrolled in an informational seminar at Healthy Weight Management & Bariatric Surgery. However, it was her nephew’s innocent comment about how much he loved her “squish belly” that turned consideration into action.
Traci’s pre-surgical process was different than many patients. In addition to a six-month monitored diet, she completed extra counseling with a psychologist to develop a toolbox of healthy coping mechanisms. These sessions fully prepared her for the emotional aspects of life after surgery and being the person she knew she was meant to be.
