Convenient access to Penn Medicine’s nationally-recognized transplant resources.
Local patients exploring options for liver and kidney/pancreas transplants have convenient access to Penn Medicine's nationally-recognized transplant program in downtown Lancaster at an office adjacent to Lancaster General Health's Lancaster General Hospital.
Penn Medicine’s Liver and Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Evaluation clinic at Lancaster General Health offers pre-transplant evaluation and testing, along with some follow-up care, for transplant patients of Penn Medicine in Philadelphia. Being able to receive these services in Lancaster reduces the number of times local transplant patients need to travel to Philadelphia.
Penn Medicine has the largest transplant center in the region and is nationally recognized for its transplant expertise. Physicians perform more than 400 organ transplants each year—including 180 in the kidney transplant program and 120 in the liver transplant program—with outcomes that consistently meet or exceed national averages.
The Penn Medicine Kidney/Pancreas and Liver Transplant teams work closely with LG Health providers, offering updates and coordinating care plans.
